Tumbleweed Letters
Juni Fisher
Each of these songs is storytelling at its finest. As a listener, you can't wait to hear how the story will end...then, you wish it hadn't! I'll never forget the first time I heard this CD. I was working in a Western museum store, at the time, and Western music provided the ambiance. We anxiously awaited new disks to play. Well, I popped this one in and went about my business...within a few minutes we all stopped what we were doing...so did our visitors! Everyone was mesmerized by the music, the lyrics, that new voice! We were engaged, enthralled, and spellbound.
All original music, Juni was inspired by a wide variety of Western influences - from Marty Robbins to Larry McMurty to Bonanza to the Irish potato blight of 1848 to "Little Big Man," each track will move you to laughter or, possibly, to tears.
Tumbleweed Letters takes the history of the West from a stark reality viewpoint to the wildly funny, and keeps you on the trail with the delightful Juni Fisher/Ranger Doug (Riders in the Sky) title duet: critically acclaimed for good reason.
