From our Purveyor of Books:
This is a captivating story, and one we need during these uncertain times. Although written with youngsters in mind, this powerful story will nourish the imagination and soul of adults too. Here's a favorite passage of mine for it is a message of hope and reminds us that love will always prevail:

"...She knew the old legend that was passed down from every mare to her daughters. This legend told that whenever times were hard and evil seemed to be taking over the world, a wonderful horse would be born. This horse would have antlers to mark him as special. He would do marvelous deeds of great strength, bravery and kindness and he would vanquish evil by his goodness. Sabina said to herself, "I have been chosen of all the mares in the world to give birth to the wonder horse." So in her heart she named him Wunderbar."

What Others Are Saying:
"This lovely book's message of belief in the spirit of wonder will resonate with children of all ages, including the adults who the good fortune to read it their kids and grandkids!"

"Just got lost in a fairy tale and didn't want it to end-it was absoutely wunderbar!! I just loved it-"
--Elisa B., Attorney, Los Angeles, CA

From the Publisher:
Set in medieval Europe, the book tells the tale of Wunderbar, a special horse whose birth has been foretold among horses for countless generations. called Dummkopf by all the people and horses because of his peculiar antlers, he is named Wunderbar by his mother because she knows his antlers are a mark of greatness. How he grows in strength of character is a touching tale of love and devotion to good. Wunderbar displays great speed and bravery in facing ever more difficult challenges. Each one overcome prepares him for the ultimate test, when he faces the totally evil dragon Mangela, the source of all the evil in "the land besides the Northern Sea."

With vibrant illustrations throughout and unique parchment pages, this is a book that delights the eye, while the story will touch the heart of young and old alike. A wonderful "read out loud" book.
