From our Purveyor of Music:
After I fell in love with Ruben Romero's Flamenco Southwest, I began listening to other Mexican and Spanish guitarists. This CD quickly became another favorite. Tex-Mex legendary guitarist, Frank Corrales,
was influenced by the music he heard in the Mexican movies that featured the equivalent of the "singing cowboy." After gaining fame in the movies these songs were played in cantinas and neighborhood bars. We played it in the store I worked in regularly and it was a big hit with our customers. Now you can bring the music of your favorite cantina home with you!
The majority of the music here comes from the Golden Age of Mexican films, ranging from “Jalisco No Te Rajes” to the touching birthday song “Las Mañas.” Frank Corrales approaches music just the way you’d hear it walking into a neighborhood cantina.
