I look forward to hearing new titles from familiar artists. I especially enjoy experiencing new titles from artists I'm not familiar with. Larry Kenneth Potts was a new name to me, although he has been an award winning singer/songwriter for sometime. When I listen for a first time, I like to read the CD liner notes and especially appreciate having the lyrics available. If I like the CD, I play it through several times. And, if I really like it I play it repeatedly throughout the day so I am totally familiar with it. This CD gets a lot of air play in our store. Western with a country edge - I like that. Refreshing. Great storytelling. I like that. Some are historical based, like "The Ballad of Black Bart" and others are very personal and endearing like "Our Last Walk."

This is a CD you'll enjoy over and over. Take my word for it.

About the Artist:
Calling Petaluma, CA his home, {>}Larry Kenneth Potts started writing original music twelve years ago. Touring the Northwest with a folk band in the '60's during his undergrad days at Willamette University in Oregon, he's reawakened a musical dream and has won or placed as finalist in a number of local, national, and International song contests and competitions.

His songs range from Country-Folk and Western to Americana to Pop and Jazz. This, his most recent album, most accurately defines him as an artist: this latest record is a collection of songs written and recorded over the past 12 years which reflect his love of wide open spaces and celebrate the enduring values of the American West, featuring a brand new song, "Cowboy Kind," a tribute to the Western lifestyle and a story of redemption among ranching families, dedicated to his father.
