In the Old West the word fandango meant two things - music and food. That's the inspiration for this CD. It brings together cowboy guitar music with an enticing mini-cookbook of recipes straight from the ranch.

Musically the CD re-creates the feel of a real fandango. The first several tunes are toe-tapping traditional tunes played in a Texas-swing style with guitars, bass and light percussion. This is music to accompany dancing and food preparation. This is the music you would have heard as cowboys sat aound the campfire swapping stories and tall tales.

 

Inside the CD booklet is  mini-Cowboy Cookbook featuring recipes gathered by Melissa Guerra. Recipes include everything from Cactus Cornbread and Dove Pie to the cowboy classics of Chicken Fried Steak, Mixed Greens, and Black-Eyed Peas.
