We were thrilled to have Cowgirl Peg with us in the Buckaroo Book Shop, part of the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. She made the trip from Texas just to participate as an author and story teller. Here she is standing behind new friend, Petrine Mitchum, waiting to exchange books. Thanks Cowgirl Peg!
About the Story:
Oakie is the newest horse at Cowgirl Peg's ranch. She is thrilled to be there, but feels anxious about making new friends. Follow her through her encounters as she meets the other animals at the ranch and learns the importance of making "smart choices." This beautifully illustrated story clearly, and humourously, delivers several messages to young readers, including:
*Making smart choices
*Respecting the property of others
*Welcoming new students to a school and
neighborhood
According to Cowgirl Peg, many parents and educators requested a book that would help children deal with peer pressure. This story does that and more. She had a lot of fun writing it and hopes you have just as much fun reading it!
