Do you remember your first cowboy hat? I have a strong memory of the first red cowboy hat I coveted. Summer visits to my grandparents always included a round of miniature golf at Frog Hollow. In a shop there I found a red cowboy hat, with white lacing all along the edge. I wanted that hat the way Ralphie wants the Red Ryder BB-gun in Christmas Story! It cost $7.00...probably my allowance for 7 months. Well, I saved my money and the next year when we went back it was still there! Horrors! I'd outgrown it! I don't think I've ever been so disappointed! Lesson learned - get it now! No delayed gratification for me!
