Well, the first time I heard David Wilkie and the McDades perform in concert, they did "Gary Owen - Custer Died A Running." Their spin on the events of that infamous day, took me, and the audience, by complete surprise - I recall loud gasps, then some chuckles, and even a scattering of applause. I've been a fan of this group ever since. In concert, David spins the stories behind the music and I always come away with a new appreciation for Western music's international roots.
