Turquoise Slab Earrings

Native American made by Santo Domingo artisan Julian Coriz and his family for Silver Sun. Each turquoise slab is about a half inch long.

About the Artists:
Julian and Kelly Coriz with their three daughters, Sand, Danielle, and Desiree create their jewelry together.  Julian and Kelly have been married about 18 years and live in Santo Domingo Pueblo. Their work is unique and every piece is a family effort. Julian analyzes the stones; he chooses, slices, and arranges pieces until he reaches an initial design. Then, Kelly and the older girls string and polish while Nayda, the youngest sister, watches and learns. Julian says that the best part of his job continuing the tradition of heishe and working at his own pace.
