Western Music Association
Purpose of the WMA
The Western Music Association and its chapters foster the professional growth of individual performing members. Our open membership policy encourages western music performers and fans to join and participate in the organization. The WMA publishes the quarterly "Western Way", the only professional magazine dedicated to the promotion of western music, and our website, provides a central focus for western music performers and links to their individual websites. Inclusion on the website is one of the membership benefits for performing members. Our Educational Outreach Program was started because we view it as important to acquaint students with the musical heritage of the American West, from traditional trail songs, through the era of the movie cowboy, to contemporary western songwriting.

Ralph's Backporch Radio
Western Music Association's 2009 Radio Station of the Year

Remember the the days gone by where neighbors sat out on their porches, discussing the weather and the latest gossip? Rocking and swinging to a rythm of a slower life? Your paw or granddaddy would say something patriotic, and all the others would nod, and sit in silence as they contemplate the significance. Then Uncle Skeet from down the road would pipe up with a cowboy story, causing everyone to fall into side splitting laughter. Do you remember that? At Ralph's Backporch we do and we miss it.

Neighbor, we invite you to come sit a spell with us. Kick back in that rocker, pull up the porch swing and relax, grab a cup of joe or a glass of sweet tea and sit a spell, stare out across the pasture as we chew the fat, tell a few windies, share some laughs and solve the worlds problems.
