![]() Meet Jason "Buck" Corbett {>}July 23, It's All About National Day of the Cowboy! Join the "Around the Barn" team with call-in guest Karla Buhlman of Autry Entertainment. Our live, in-studio guests are Western musicians and REEL COWBOY members Jason "Buck" Corbett and Skeeter Mann. They'll be playin' music and talkin' cowboy! I have been in love with all music genres since I was a youngster. The two that influenced me the most were Honky-Tonk, Country and Western (Cowboy). I grew up listening to Country. I used to sing along with my cousins. I just recently found out that my dad won a singing contest on the radio back in the late thirties. So I guess I got my singing ability from him. When I got old enough to go to the movies, it was to see the "B" Western stars. That's when I fell in love with the great harmonies sung by groups like The Sons of the Pioneers, Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage and The Cass County Boys. They helped me develop my "Western" style of singing. Since embarking on this career I have been fortunate to have played at places like the Autry National Center Museum of the American West, founded by Gene Autry, Taste of Encino, and various benefits. Hugh O'Briens "HOBY" was one that I had a wonderful time performing. I was part of a program that included Paul Hendel and The Lost Canyon Rangers. My group and I have entertained at many venues. We play every first and third Wednesdays at El Trocadero Mexcian Restaurant in Old Town Newhall. We have also played the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, Bean Town, The William S. Hart Museum Hall, and we had a great crowd at the Blue Ridge Pickin' Parlor. Shop Jason Buck Corbett:
