Musikode Productions is the result of a desire to preserve the western and cowboy culture and its music and musicians, to promote contemporary cowboy musicians and to provide corporations, charities, and venues (large or small) with quality western music performers for special events, meetings and fund raising efforts.
Marvin O’Dell, President/Producer
Marvin is recognized in the western music arena as a successful song writer; his original music is being well-received and recorded by other performing artists. He is the 2007 Western Music Association’s DJ of the Year, and his first solo album, Letter to Molly, was nominated for a Western Music Association Western Album of the Year award. His production and recording effort, The Silver Screen Project, features 19 of today’s finest western recording artists and musicians on a 2-CD set. Marvin's highly requested song, Jesus & Roy, won the Western Music Association's Song of the Year award for 2009. This double CD set won the 2010 WMA's President's Award.
In her professional life, after a twenty-year career in educational publishing, Theresa moved into freelance editing and then into the non-profit world of an educational foundation. She brings a wealth of skill and creativity to Musikode Productions and joins Marvin in the desire to keep alive this wonderful western music heritage. Theresa serves as an officer on the Board of Directors for the Western Music Association (WMA). Both Marvin and Theresa are members of the Western Music Association and are passionate about the work that the organization does to promote and educate about western music, musicians and the western way of life. Out of Marvin and Theresa’s love of the history of the American cowboy and great respect for this music and its musicians and performers, Musikode Productions was born. "We want to do what we can to preserve the western way of life through music and other forms of western entertainment so that generations to come will know it existed and can appreciate the heritage. It's exciting to work with venues to provide quality western performers for their functions and introduce some folks to real western entertainment for the first time."
