Meet the Artisans of The Soldier Factory

The Scruby family has been in the pewter casting and design business for over 50 years. Started by Jack Scruby in Visalia, CA with his own line of Toy Soldiers in the 1950's. He became World renowned as one of America's top Toy Soldier designers and producers.

 

In 1973 the business moved to Cambria, CA where the retail shop The Soldier Factory was opened and the business evolved into a full line of pewter collectibles, with Jack's wife Wanda adding her sculpting talent as a well respected artist in her own right.

 

Today the tradition is carried on by daughter Wendy. All pieces are cast by hand in original molds made in the studio. Some of the most talented sculptors are now utilized to bring to life the most beautiful designs. Wendy has been involved with horses most of her life and creates from her love of horses her original line of equine related items. New items are being created continuously and there is always something new in the works.
