Meet Andria Kidd
For over 40 years, Andria Kidd has lived and trained horses in Ventura County. Her real-life experiences and the Sespe – the Outback of Ventura County, have been the inspiration for her cowboy poetry. Her story-poems about horses, ranches and rodeos, bring her cowgirl lifestyle and the great American West into your heart that takes you on a journey down the Americana trail.
Andria Kidd is a professional horse trainer, equine appraiser, cowgirl and poet. Her work was first published in 1983 in Horse and Rider magazine and her first performance as a cowgirl poet was in 1984 at the California Vaquero Show held at “The Mill” – now known as the Agricultural Museum of Ventura County.
Andria has performed at the Ventura County Fair, Ventura County Cattlemen’s Bar-b-ques, the Ventura County Women for Agriculture events, the Ventura County Agricultural Commission Taste of Local, Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival's Buckaroo Book Shop, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and for the Ojai Chapter of the California Dressage Society. She has been a guest on “The Writers’ Block” and “The World of Horses radio shows.
In 2013 and again in 2014, her first album, “Sespe Sky” and in 2015 her second album, “Sespe Lullaby” were nominated by the Western Music Association for - Cowboy Poetry Album of the Year.
Her musical cowboy poetry has been played on radio stations across the United States, Country Music Switzerland and on radio stations in the United Kingdom and Australia. Her fans are found in many countries all around the globe.
