Meet Mike Moutoux
New Mexico's Most Enchanting Cowboy

Mike lives north of Silver City, New Mexico and works on a 13,000-acre ranch south of town At the ranch, most work is done on horseback using traditional methods. "The work out here is tough and weather in Southwest New Mexico can get pretty hot, but the scenery is fantastic. Most of the time we can see two or three different mountain ranges depending on where we are. So I come home most days tired but with a lot of things that happened that day and what sorts of things we saw."

Mike has been performing cowboy poetry and music since 2002 and is an audience favorite wherever he goes. Calling himself, "New Mexico's Most Enchanting Cowboy" he strives to take his listeners to places and feelings they may not get to any other way. "I want to put them as close to being in the saddle as words and music allow - and at the same time leave 'em laughing." In 2006, Mike was nominated for "Cowboy Poet of the Year" by the Western Music Association and performed at their festival in Albuquerque. In 2007, his CD, "Headin' Home" was nominated for "Cowboy Poetry CD" of the Year.

Mike has performed at schools and festivals across the country including the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in Sierra Vista, AZ, The Durango Cowoby Gathering in Durango CO, The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering in Prescott, AZ, and Rex Allen Days in Willcox, AZ.

"My wife, Emily, often travels with me to the different festivals and we look forward to seeing the friends we've made over the years and visiting with people after a show. Western folks are some of the nicest people you can meet; we go for the great music and wonderful cowboy poetry, but we enjoy visiting with everyone just as much."
